Follow The Leader

Follow The Leader

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Follow The Leader

acting as

mere slaves;

and unto the hand

we'd truly kiss;

never questioning

the rule of this higher being...

nor opening our eyes

until the sour ending

very profound. your poetry is short and deceptive as it is very profound and the shortness of it decieves the reader into not taking into account the depth of it at times. it has to be ead and re read a few times. it is very enjoyable to read.

james, your poem got me again, the ending, the twist, the imagery worked
awsomely for this poem, felt as if i was in another place and time,
a true wordsmith reflection, i really enjoyed what this poem represents
in meaning, wriiten with an air of classical romance, Delivered with
heartfelt, creative effect, Leaves the reader in a towered state of thought,
great job, many aspects of emotion are drawn to height, excellent, mike

And some do not open their eyes. A true shame because we don't have to walk through this world carrying the heavy laden load of guilt, sorrow, anger, etc. Jesus says that we can cast our burden on him and he will carry it. This poem confirms how simple life can be if only we turned our lives over to Him before it is too late.

This is quite deep. A reader can interpret this as a spiritual awakening-or an obsession. Great work here.
