Tonite's Tally

Tonite's Tally

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Tonite's Tally

Wow, on the news tonite,

I saw death, murder and rape...

and lets not forget

gas prices and taxes galore;

for they're all killers too!

The irony of your satirical take of the 'news', is that it highlights the follies, abuses and shortcomings of the society we live in. And, although a humorous write, I can sense the angry behind the ridicule.

Excellent piece!

maybe no news is good news..
Each night on the local news here .. all the same .. different name is the only difference.
Good analysis, James.

Boy are they ever! They never talk about anything positive, but truth can be quite s****y at times.

You hit the nail on the head with this one. I try not to listen to the news any more. It's so depressing. What's that old saying, " No news is good news" Sad to say the news never stops now a days.

Great work my friend.
