in the late of night

in the late of night

A Poem by Will Van Stone, Jr

as the clock strikes the witching hour
while the world falls to sleep
those visions of what was
reminders of you and me
waken from behind these eyes
and remind me once again
of everything i had back then
and never will again

the sweetest lies whispered
behind love's facade
do nothing more than pain me
when i can still feel your arms
gentle words
heated lust
no more to be found
only defening silence
and flasehes of us remain
in the late of night

curled up alone
lost in memories
wondering what went wrong
when everything seemed
perfect and good
with never a doubt
that all would remain
without storm clouds

the sweetest lies whispered
behind love's fascade
do nothing more than pain me
when i can still feel your arms
gentle words
heated lust
no more to be found
only defening silence
and flashes of us remain
in the late of night

darkness can be so empty
with noone by your side
all you can see is that ending
that brought that saftey down
no more can i love you
but no matter how i try
i just can't say those simple words
i just can't say good bye

(in the late of night)
just
(in the late of night)
can't
(in the late of night)
say
(in the late of night)
good bye

not tonight
