True Value

True Value

A Poem by JoshuaCmngs
"

What is something with true worth?

"

Why do you want me to say it?

Those three simple words.

Words are unimportant.

These words you want me to say,

Why must I say them?

Are they important to you?

Words have no meaning other than what you give them.

These words are worn down,

Cliché,

The opposite of how I feel.

Why can’t I, Instead of saying ‘I love you’

Just open my heart and show you what lies within?

Is a jewel more important to you than my devotion?

Would you rather have a band of gold than my companionship?

The completion of a ritual pales in comparison to my emotions.

Why do you ask of me to say something so mainstream,

When I could show you how I feel instead.

I don't understand,

You say you desire the gifts I can give to you,

And yet you ignore the most valuable one.

Besides the a bit of disconnection in the end a nice poem.
Thanks for sharing.

I am Josh. I am weird, quirky, and all kinds of crazy, but I won't apologize for it. I have a very strange personality (even I don't understand myself sometimes) and I do not really know what I am doi.. more..
