The Vow

The Vow

A Story by JoshuaCmngs
"

James has a predicament.

"

Dearest friends, We are gathered here to day…Blah Blah Blah… James was getting too nervous about his wedding vows to worry about his wedding sermon. He looked at the face of his bride, and prayed that she liked it. Ah, it was finally time for the Vows. Chanterelle spoke first, “James, You are someone so special to me that I would spend the rest of my life with you. Compared to you, no other person in this world has any appeal to me, and without you the world would be a dull, colorless place.” The audience sighed with passion at the vow, and James was so touched that he almost couldn’t speak. But he had to, It was his turn to say the Vows. He inhaled deeply, and said “Chanterelle, I have no vow” The audience was taken aback, and many gasps were heard. “Chanterelle, I simply can not put how much love for you I have down in words, to do so would be a crime to our bond, so I have decided not even to try. I could never look at anyone else for as long as I live, and I’m sorry I have no way of saying how much I love you, because the words haven’t been invented yet.” At this, his bride began to cry silently, and his mother fell out of her seat. And In that one moment of silence, James knew their love would last an eternity.
