New Moon

This is a poem I wrote for a English assignment. It is based on the Number 1 New York Times Bestselling list Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. It is mostly about New Moon, and some lines I have made to fit in with the poem. It has one part of Eclipse.

New Moon

We were taking a walk in the forest

Up in the sky there was a new moon

He said he had to leave

And it would be the best thing to do

I watched him disappear through the forest trees

I screamed out “Wait!”

But no reply was made

I tried to follow him but I just got lost

It started raining

And I just sit there and sobbed

I heard someone call my name

But I did not reply

I was too sad to even think about

Anything else than why might he have gone

I was exhausted of what had happened today

So I lay my head on the muddy ground

I heard my name one more time

And then closed my tired eyes

Six months passed and he still hadn’t come back

I fell in love with someone else

But not like the love he and I had

I came back from an exhausted day Jacob and I had

And when I turned on the lights a visitor met my eyes

I jumped up and down to greet our important guest

All she did was stare at me and said “Edward thinks your dead.”

I started breathing hard thinking about what she just said

She said my true love, Edward, thought I was dead.

Edward was far away

But I really did not care

I hopped up on the plane

And ran when we were there

I ran until I saw him, until I saw his face

And when I finally saw him I scram “Edward wait!”

He was happy to see me, I can tell

I was so happy too, that I fell

He caught me and I stared into his eyes

He asked if I was alright

And I said “I’m just fine.”

We went back home happy as can be

He walked me to the door and bent down on one knee

I looked around quite nervously

And he asked “Isabella Swan?

I promise to love you forever-

Every single day of forever,

Will you marry me?”

I stared at him with my eyes big and wide

He looked at me and said “Bella, please with out you my life is like a moonless sky.”
