A Kind of Cross**A Poem by Paris HladA Kind of Cross
A Poem Rewritten Over a Period Of Fifty Highly Passionate And Amusing Years
-
We have become a kind of cross: An intersection comprised of extremes -
But to just sit here is to gather On behalf of existential ennui,
While to venture further is to agitate On behalf of the pathetically absurd
Yet, a perfect cross May be extended
Over a perfect sphere -
And although its lines will for awhile Move farther and farther apart,
They will intersect again "
And again,
And again
In exactly the same place As long as they continue
To extend. © 2023 Paris Hlad |
