The Tender Sins of EarthA Poem by Paris HladThe Tender Sins of
Earth
The Mistakes &
Romantic Sins of Youth Should Be Forgiven
& Never Forgotten.
---
When I performed the
rites of airy spring, I did not see the
gift within the gain,
As I was lost in
wonder
With a gleam
And did not seek a
meaning
In the main
Oh, I was like a
daydream in the hills, When tickled by the
eyelash of my love, I swooned in every tender
sin of Earth, Indifferent to the
sigh of things above
And that is why The essence of a
youth
Is little more than Pollen on a wing
Yet I have come To envy what I see Within the one
Who lives The rites of spring. © 2023 Paris Hlad |
