The Good Host

The Good Host

A Poem by Paris Hlad

eThe Good Hostf

The Glorious Triumph

Of the Dazzling Gentleman

Paris Osowski - An Affable Host,

Exquisitely Skilled in the Social Graces,

-P-

My guests are gathered in my love;

The evening welcomes "

All

The silk of social harmony

Spreads like a golden shawl

But near this scene, my demon leans

Against a crooked tree, and points

Her finger to the ground,

And then, she points at me

But not this evening will I go -

I rise in faith bedight!

My guests are

Gathered in my love "

I am the host tonight.[1]

[1] Paris suffered from the curse of sudden sadness, particularly in social situations. He was occasionally the death, though more regularly the existential ennui that wrecked a party. However, he was consistently a charming and attentive host, so strong was his desire to please those who were his invited and highly valued guests.
