A Poem by twinklestar

Is it a home or is it a house ?
It is a house a cold barren wooden structure.
Which contains bitter angry creatures.
Don't go in there because it's not home.
"Where do I go :("
You sleep and hear a voice it say's " Come home to me I have been waiting all my life for you, I am your home".
You wake and wonder when you'll go home.
Don't worry dear one just wait you will find your home one day.
All you need is faith and courage .
You will make it.

a house is a building, a home is where our heart resides...

i think what makes a relationship tick is when each side feels the other is "home"--

this reminds me of the metonymy emily dickinson uses in "there's been a death in the opposite house"--

she uses the word "house" in the poem 4 times and each time the meaning is totally different.

doesn't take faith and courage to go into a house, that is just temporary shelter...but to get home? ah yes, that takes courage.

i love baseball...grew up in the Bronx in the 50's with the dodgers, yanks and giants all there at the same time...
and in baseball...the object is not to be safe at "the house"..it is to be safe at "home"

SAFE!

obviously this piece touched a few nerves.

like it much.
