Questions of Why.A Poem by Kevin The WeirdThis is about someone talking to their heart, which has left them. They ask all of these questions of "why? Why do we...?" and the heart answers. This is my second poem, and I wanted to try a kind of different style form from what I've seen/useWhy? Why do we love? We want to be whole-- Body, mind, as well as soul. We crave completeness.
Why? Why do we fight? Looking in the past We recall battles long passed... They were all for naught.
Why? Why do we lose? We are weak alone; Events of the past have shown That it was our choice.
Why? Why do we hurt? Pain reminds us how-- Feeling it as we do now-- We're vulnerable. Why? Why do we keep going? Because we both know What it's like to sink so low And feel all alone.
Why? Why are you gone? If I was still there, Only bringing you despair, You would want the End.
Why? Why must I go on? If you give up now, You'll never remember how To laugh, cry, or smile.
Why? Why must I walk this road? For your life to mend, Walk along to the end Of this twilit road.
Why? Why? Why won't you come back? Don't fret: I'll return When love and happiness burn In another's heart...
