Childhood days

Childhood days

A Poem by Alicia

Swing set. Sunset.
Dreams of being a princess.
Green grass.
Tree shade.
Memories of childhood days.
High school girl
on the swing-
her shadow rises and falls
against the sun.
Little red wagon in the shed.
Tears shed.
Tricycle and concrete.
Scars still on her knee.
She looks down at her heart...
scars sure do travel far.
Sun sets. Stars rise
No more sunny skies.
She sure does misses time
All that's left are childhood rhymes.
Sun light fades away.
No more childhood days.
