A Poem by Alicia

And he lied to her;
he insulted her;
he broke her heart;
he ripped it out of her chest;
let her fall to her knees,
blood staining the floor,
with no intentions to help her up.
And the first thing she did
was apologize that she wasn't worth his time;
apologize that she wasn't enough for him,
and picked up the pieces one by one
and handed it right back to him.
She waited for him to say the three words
she was longing to hear,
but he told no more lies.
He walked away, and didn't look back,
and she just waited
all alone,
because if he were to come back,
if he were to ever need her
she'd take him back, no questions asked.
Because she loved him
and sometimes he loved her, too...
