Solar Eclipse

Solar Eclipse

A Poem by Sarah

A solar eclipse,
Nothing in the dead and alive sense,
Well, close to it I guess,
My mind is clear and bright,
Then as time progresses,
It slowly blackens,
This is my thoughts and emotions,
This is the first time,
The first time I've found a comparison,
As the planet or moon covers the integrity of- the sun,
The sun weakens,
As the moon or planet goes before me,
My hope,
My strength,
My dignity that I once stood upon,
Goes into hiding.
This has gone on since I can remember,
This moon or planet isn't a person,
It's not even a thing,
It's my own mind setting up discouragement,
It roughs me up,
Strips me of my dignity,
Strips me of my pride,
Takes away my self respect,
Hurts those I love,
It's not a person's fault,
It's not anything's fault.
It's my own mind,
My own self destruction.
