"
Her resistance
to conceal the existence of other men
attracted that which was earlier defined
as a reason to discriminate
to avoid another pretending not to notice
such resilience presented only at night …
… the faint shadow of Alexis screaming
“these bruises look pretty”,
delighting those whose presence explains
the absence of absinthe
and the consumption of cheap chardonnay
