I Just Don't Want to Lose YouA Poem by turtlegirlluverHow I feel toward one of my friends who is off to collegeAs you are about to leave, I gather you into my arms, and hold on to our last few moments.
I tell you all that has gone on in my life and the things that I have kept inside that I’m sorry if I ever hurt you I’m sorry if I ever annoyed you I’m sorry if I made things complicated I’m sorry for putting you in a position after I said I liked you and you didn’t feel the same I’m sorry for anything that I did that you didn’t like I’m sorry…
But the words don’t come out, so instead I just hold on, to the one I use to love, before you walk out of my life, wondering if I’ll ever see you again.
My heart still smiles as you smile at me, and fills with happiness with your hugs. Even though my love was not returned, I’m glad you taught me how to love, Thank you for making me strong, Thanks you for making me a better person, and thank you for always being my friend.
As time splits us apart, I cherish all the memories and wish I could tell you how sorry I am but the words don’t come because I just don’t want to lose you. © 2009 turtlegirlluverAuthor's Note
