Wishing

 I'm tired of wishing

for it seems to lead only to pain

 

I just want to break apart and cry

and then to have someone comfort me

while I'm in their arms

 

I want all this

but on the outside

all I do is smile

 

I've decided to block others

from taking hold of my heart

but how do I get you out

when you're already in?

This is from a time when I wanted to block out others to save myself from the pain, but I found it's hard to block out someone when they are already in your heart.

An interesting poem with interesting content. You're right, that's a problem. I guess sometimes you have to embrace pain, push through it to find life after it.
