Withering SONNETA Poem by tumipoignantWithered SONNET
I’m a broken flower, a damaged plant Yearning for solace in the sun’s embrace Stuck beneath dark lurks and shadowy chants Of withered trees in autumn’s beauty haze
Withering away, while the whirlwind reigns An empty rumor, for none to acclaim Soaked wet anew, by the pattering rains Yet I stand firm unbowed by deepest shame
The sighing trees shield the sun’s tender face Like dirge emerges, I rise with strong faith The gale howls fiercely, blowing pains away Tears fall freely while hope and faith await
A chance to rise again from trembling tears A chance to break the chains that fuel my fears © 2024 tumi |
