"

Beyond Tears”

When my final breath escapes,
Don't weep, my love, while I'm still warm.
Cherish our laughter, our tender grasp,
Like love birds nesting, our hearts still swarm.

Life's fleeting, tinged with tears and fear,
Uncertainty grips, and sorrow draws near.
But don't despair; my love will transcend.

Beware the hidden dangers, lurking near,
The serpent's sting, the fox's cunning sneer,
The silent creep of deceitful men,
While innocence slumbers, unaware and thin.

Yet, when I'm gone, don't crumble or fall,
Be sturdy as rocks, calm as a summer's call.
Grieve, but don't let sorrow consume your soul,
For my spirit will hover, forever whole.

Don't rush to heal, nor cling to pain,
For my love, our bond, will forever remain.
Move forward, relive life's vibrant hue,
With another heart, in dreams anew.

In slumber, our love will reunite,
No tears, no torment, just peaceful night.
Lest my soul, from the depths below,
Grieve for you, lost in sorrow's woe.

So, do not cry when I die,
Celebrate our love, and let it never die

One of the things I have found helpful is to read my poem out aloud, I can hear it's flow and rearrange the words to smooth it's flow, or find a similar word that fits in better to that rhythm.
I'm only new at this and I can see you have written heaps!

Such a good message for those left behind, it's still hard to lose people no matter how much we don't want them to weep. Great poem

This is true emotion leaving its own memorial to love. Prompts tears, inspires smiles - is how it can and should be, tragic, yes, but laid before others as a promise to a forever none of us will ever know. The writer gives as he/she strips self of life's inhibitions but shares out experience in how to.. .. must do.

'So, do not cry when I die,
Celebrate our love, and let it never die'

I love this poem because it is like a final "Goodbye" to reassure the partner left behind of eternal love which will not die when the person does. I love how she urges him not to rush to heal nor to cling to the pain of parting. I also love how she urges him to be vigilant, to take care lest he fall into a trap when she has gone. A very evocative, well inked poem from your poetic pen, dear tumi! Lovely use of metaphor and other figures of speech, excellent depiction and a truly warm, tender, sweet and loving write. Thank you so very much for sharing, dear tumi... GREAT write!

I love this...what it brings to mind is the ending of Romeo and Juliet...He felt her cheek and it was still warm....and outside the dangers of those coming to the vault.
I think true love lives past the dying .....hearts really do go on.
