I Died in My Dream

I Died in My Dream

A Poem by Tumi

In My Dream

In my dream, I lay lifeless and still

a corpse embalmed, six feet’ neath the hill

legs tied, body wrapped like mummies sway

my mouth silenced, unable to cry out or pray

I was lowered descending in the dark haze

But I saw your eyes flashing in amazing grace

Tears well up, filling every shaded eyes with drops

But yours stay still, in constant rhythm sighs

Each last words, from love ones pleasures my heart

Like chills of frost in autumns mist

Your last word, a doubled edge piercing dart

Penetrating deeply above my wrist

Your tears not yours, but a hollow mask

Faint, unreal, tearing life apart

Your tears now covered by a slow hidden smirk

The veil lifted, I could see my blind eyes

The pain I felt was beyond every hell made

Its venom unknown, beyond all darkened shade

Just because my heart diverted once

You unleashed the darken burning torrents to haunt

But I woke, you were there by my side

Darkness fades, and the light resides

I feel the power in this piece that dives under the surface and deep into the depths of another world. Dark and dreamy it leaves feelings of insecurity and unease. Well done

thanks for the kind review

Wow! What a nightmare that dream was, dear tumi... So traumatic, I only realised I was holding my breath when I reached the last two words! A gripping write which drew me in and did not set me free until I had finished reading the poem! Well expressed, depiction is superb and this plain text is so very much easier to read, thank you for reverting back to it. GREAT write which in spite of the horror I felt, I enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing, tumi...

thanks for your kind review
it means alot
And you broke the pillars of my heart
With your last words
You shook the host of hell
With such words
In Your tongues were stings
That never lived
in my heart such bitterness
I have never felt

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Lol
how was those lines
good or bad
I'm glad it was just a dream and you woke up and gave us your wonderful poem.
The way you presented the words definitely opened new paths in my mind.
Everybody should see this but I'm jealous that I'm not the only one reading this, but we'll still make your voices heard :)
