SECRET ADMIRER

NO

How could you have said NO

even after professing my love for you

despite overcoming my own shadow

just to be able to show my feelings

after fighting hard to conquer the butterflies in my stomach

only for you to refuse

how could you be so cruel towards my heart

despite all I have done

running a thousand-mile daily

just to have a glimpse of your eyes

reminiscing about the late nights

when I walk you all the way home

keeping you company

while we go on every mile

just for a hug, or a NO

despite how I toiled like a slave

like a servant

but now you wish to destroy a perfect union

forgetting how I helped you sneak into bed late in the nights

get caught by your curious mom

busted on the streets

regardless about the late night talks

while my sleep was caged under the pretense of affection

just to hear all your worries, your jokes

listening to your different theories

all this you still said NO

cursed are the reasons why

for now, I realized too late

I didn’t pitch my tent in a fertile land

You should have heard me scream NO THIS CAN'T HAPPEN when I saw the title, I covered my mouth with my hand and read the whole thing. Damn it, I swear to God, I felt all of these. This reminded me of a poem of mine called "What a Loss", I had exactly the same feelings in it.
I stopped getting angry about people, relationships, feelings and more a while ago. Relationships require effort, you can't simply meet the love of your life and say "yes, this is it", you have to make an effort. You have to try to understand, this "love can be found" idea of people destroys me.

And after all that effort, the fact that the relationship still doesn't work...
This is what feels like a complete loss. It's like it was lived in vain.

The last part is such a striking ending... Being a flower that tried to bloom in the wrong lands doesn't change the fact that you are a flower. Please don't forget that you will bloom one day in your own soil, in your own water, with your own sun
