The Pure Question

The Pure Question

A Poem by Tulpi

What’s love? Asked the daisy to the skies

It’s the joy of the lark as it flies

What’s love? Asked the daisy to the sun

It’s the touch of red and white during the moon’s summon

What’s love? Asked the daisy to the waves

It’s the thrill of the splashes inside the caves

What’s love? Asked the daisy to the rain

It’s the lashing drops against the windowpane

What’s love? Asked the daisy in the midst of the wind’s rhyme

It’s the rhythm of the dancing wind chime

What’s love? Asked the daisy to God

And God gave a smile that was wise and broad

It’s the beauty of the white dove

It’s the purity of the heart as you ask what’s love!
