Wolves

Wolves

A Poem by Perry

With lunge and retreat, they

they dodged that great totem

and snapped at its flank,

to challenge its reign.

Now strong was the pack in

boreal twilight, and needful

their pups so deep in the lair,

that power and claw conceded

the fray, and left the frost morning

to warriors brave.

A most powerful litany of words, for one of the most vulnerable creatures in the wild. Good read! Nice to meet you, Mike!
