One Night

One Night

A Poem by Corey
"

a short poem

"

The vodka is gone.

Said the man to his lover.

We’re drunk.

She replied.

And the door to the house creaked open.

A cat looked in, its eyes ravenous.

Let’s give it some food said the man.

And then it was gone, back into the night

With a piece of chicken in its mouth.

It is short. But somehow it works. . .

An entire story told with these few lines. That is truly exceptional!!! This would make a wonderful short film, I think. I may have to add you to my list of favorite poets! All I can say is: WOW!
