My Medal Of Honor

My Medal Of Honor

A Poem by The never ending darkness
"

Just a something i thought off

"

I returned from The harsh land

I saved many men

But lost many more,

I am due to recieve a medal

A Medal? for what, Leaving that place alive,

what about the other 174 Britisdh soldiers that died

Do they not deserve a medal

Do they not Deserve My medal

I am to be given the Medal of Honour

Why?

Why when all i do,

Is save a few men,

The 174 each, have saved majoritys,

By doing there acts

I am standing before the majesty

She is about to give me my medal,

And I think, Why me?

Im just another soldier

Another man with a family

One of the lucky few

Who survived the ordeal

I wonder

how many others would recieve with pride and honor

Not me! I would rather, let the poor souls, who died

Take this medal.

The medal has now been given,

I walk away Feeling honorless

What does this peice of metal actually represent?

The fact that i am alive

Im sure people can see that with ther eown eyes

Now i walk out of the palace

To see crowds of people clapping

Would they be here if I was dead?

NO! They wouldnt.

This medal is worthless to me!.

What is it to you?.
