Black HoneyA Poem by TyBlack HoneyBlack honey Ultimately outwardly reflecting soul ornery Sweet but bitter Befouled root produced tarnished blossoms And all too often I'd reach for black honey to feel nourished To feel accepted, Ingested a fruitless project, Honest Black honey, Intergalactic black holes and bowls of porridge Often lost, too invested, Or feel I'd peel back foliage to unveil the north star Pacified in passion Black honey Or poison ivy guidance guise under every lesson Destined in blatant estimates Unsure the distance between each wavelength's crest and peak Cast in dream, the day didn't speak Or I'd cast skippable rocks And lures atop, Minekills placid pond waterfall Spots of uncertainty A testament to your figment of imagination Shelter, brush, and thicket, Or a safe haven or a cave, In which you'd depict as open arms Intimate Or inadvertently effectively inevitably distant Elicit thought provoking survival tactics Black honey Sometimes a sweet deceitful rare treat Drum beat Or rain dance to drown out impurity Sometimes indeed riddled with insecurities I'd attempt to bridge conscious and clarity A close soul Sometimes tainted, Black honey. © 2017 Ty |
