Black Pelican

Black Pelican

A Poem by Ty
"

Black Pelican

"
Hovering above cliffs,
And waterfalls when you're afraid to leap
Warding off dark, wings, sleep and sheep
Or Black pelicans manipulating the coast line
Treading where water meets shore
Heart races 1000 chariots at light speed
I asked a young man how he'd envision the future
Blurred,
The longitude and latitude of this blue Earth
When hues bursts
Spreading paint and time
Answer bold,
Told truth,
Sure,
Awake to the magnitude of the question I'd asked
Feat,
An impenetrable task
He said you only see zeroes and ones
Stout or slight
Black and white
Never in between,
As if anything his mind ever conceived wasn't obtainable
This song
This dream
Seemingly angry at what words laid before him
Disappointed in allowing myself to navigate down a tapering tunnel,
Physics,
Attempted reevaluating analytics
My hypothesis of physical spheres, a flammable frozen ice bubble of methane
Earth's been beaten with meteors and comets,
Still her wounds heal,
Tranquil,
The pollinated flower pedaling a message
Absorb holistic perspective,
Consume.

"Black Pelican"-Beautiful title and image melding with theme- young, immature pelicans have black feathers..insightful portrait of angry young man in this poem who only sees the world in"zeroes or ones"-.brilliant and so sad. Imagery of earth's resiliance-"still her wounds heal"-deeply felt. Love this!

Beautifully written... The last part there I've thought about and talked about with friends a lot, the earth has been through a lot and has still flourished. Tiny part of the art that this poem actually is. Thank you for sharing!
