Subcontinental

Subcontinental

A Poem by Ty
"

Subcontinental, Poem, America, Protest.

"
Calm
Night and day
Dusk and dawn
When love is strong
Hold tight
Wrapped like vines
Tough and long
Soulful strums
Basey beats of drums
Thrown and fetched
Returning home
Easy does it, it goes and flows
Dips and dives.
But here's what I've
Solidified in mind,
Absorbed, it's hived
Tangled entwined
Hand delivered from the wisdom of wise
Reach, strive,
The little and tall
Shoulders of bricks and concrete,
Solid foundations.
We're tossed,
Swayed to fall
Attempted in turning back,
The churning butter
Exact
Where it's laid
As the morning light invades
Straddling currents and waves
Digital age
The brown tourist Girl
The lone ranger
Intersecting at Black Heights and Maple Brown Road
Eccentric Mavericks,
Average in fact.
Subtracted
Time's a full rotating back-flip
Raising fists
The fury
When the temperature settles to a cool as permafrost
Prevalence in patience among us
Benevolent gestures
Whatever the message
Single filed puzzle,
One piece at a time.
