Basquiat Expressions

Basquiat Expressions

A Poem by Ty

It's all smoke and mirrors
You got some rhythm and flow too you know
Picasso paintings and portraits
Frida's watermelons and orchids,
Soaked and absorbing
Canvas' of corn fields, Starry Night, and their orbits
Distorted lines
Faded clocks, abstract, and wines
Basquiat and Haring
Head in a cloud,
Hurling palms of paint at blank spaces and wait
Absent minded, The Persistence of Memory
Not much makes sense to me now
It's all a space of smoke and mirrors
Which is received, observed or believed
Relative to you, those three, or just me
Feel faint, I feel the changes
Angled a Warhol, Dali, Gogh in arrangement
Ain't ancient artifacts the strangest
Depends on the perspective, depends on the portion
Up above, underground, underneath,
No clearer here than what's beneath
Stay to a true expression of self
It's all smoke and mirrors.
