Staring in rear views at those who came before us Steady. Stable. Aiming anger Them baby boomers just don't hear much. Blue in the face, about it and truth with its grace Eighth is the day we served a plate disgrace, to democracy, If you don't understand the bigger portrait we face You lock souls with ignorance in mirrors every morning you wake. Remnants of history that echoes today The canvas of society Ridiculed and drowned Sit ins in oceans and swimming pools A wave of emotions Heavy chip on my shoulder Toting an anchor, it's broken.
"Democracy"
Ty,
The first two lines say the most in this poem and really this is where people can see what it took to even have the country we have. I wonder what would happen to the world if we were gone.
