My heart and I wander aimlessly

My heart and I wander aimlessly

A Poem by thetish
"

As inspired by HT's painting, titled My heart and I wander namelessly

"
My heart and I wander aimlessly
on these long grey winter nights.
Beggars on street corners
arms stretched out in plight.
Eagerly imploring passerbys
to take note of a humble plead.
Crying out, oh Sir, Miss, show me
a small kindness, I am in such need.

With hands soiled by the grit of life
I cling to this precious treasure.
Swaddled in a fraying silken shall,
desperately seeking a pleasure,
blemished in emotional scare tissues,
throbbing to an angstful beat --
my heart
      and I wander aimlessly,
         namelessly through the night.
