A dream

A dream

A Poem by thetish
"

A dream of Grandma had me melting away in tears, in the realization it was only that- a dream.

"
She was there in the house
Taking care of all things
Making sure we all had
what we needed.
She was moving about,
Never sitting or resting
Sheer joy to see her so well.

Now I stand here shattered
With this stabbing pain-
No longer able to take in
the next breath.
With a flood of emotions
I bend forward in grief -
Accepting the cold wicked truth -
It was merely a dream.
She is no longer here.
No letter, no cards,
No homemade jam, no cookies,
No calm, smiling encouragement and care.

Yet her precence is felt in all that I do-
Guiding my actions, my aspirations!
I cannot fathom how, but
she is in me no doubt
Giving strength and taking care
for me from above.

I love the movement and magic of dreams, but here, how the magic of this one makes me ache. The joy turned to sorrow. Yet her beautiful presence will always be a part of your life. How powerful.
