tornado

A Poem by thetish
"

These are my thoughts as a struggled a few years ago, when I strongly and morally disagreed with events enfolding around me.

"

Amid the winds of the tornado that roar in terror

I grab to seize control.

Inside my mind races, grasping at the pieces of debris;

Outside I build the walls of protection thicker, brick by brick.

The horrors plague my sleep with never-ending chaos:

Searching, racing, crashing, seeking,

Answers for the questions, which there can be

only nonsense and unrest.

Longing to find the peace lying up before;

Longing for the calm that must be.

I lend my faith to the spirits of all before -

Be my beacon - guiding and shining bright.

The winds of the storm are uncompromising.

They tear at my being, ripping off what they can.

Yet I thrust my feet firmly under me,

With my face directly pointing at the eye.

I live here in a patch of land where tornadoes love to rise, yet in your words these tornadoes seem to fly inside the mind and soul. How the winds tear at you, and the fierce storms pull your mind into dark places. So powerfully voiced.

These are very positive lines :

The winds of the storm are uncompromising.
They tear at my being, ripping off what they can.
Yet I thrust my feet firmly under me,
With my face directly pointing at the eye.
