Up & down

Up & down

A Poem by thetish

This teeter-totter goes up
With firm judgement.
And slams back down
With a rush of emotions.

Longing and wanting
Doubting and denying.
Knowing what is right
Feeling what is wrong.

He is my best friend
You are just passing.
He is my everything
You are a daydream.

I will not go against
The longing so intense.
I could never break
This fantasy feels real.

How to stop this?
I must deny.
How to suppress?
I must ignore.

Reality cannot allow
My heart skips a beat.
My judgment demands
Singing songs of lust.

At times, inspite, of our better judgement we follow the voice of our heart.
The mind tells us a different story.
One can feel the conflicting emotions in this lovely writing

Thank you for reading and commenting.
One can feel the rhythm of the mind, moving back and forth across these thoughts, these desires. There are dreams worth holding, and yet, so often the world we seek is what seems best, more solid than a fantasy. This is when we open our eyes to find ways to the magic places.
