Chapter 5 - Sora Original: Nitoryu

Sora reveals his talent...

Nitoryu was a skill I discovered one day while I was out training. I knew Pistis and Eros were both one handed swords but I figured it was pointless. Wielding two swords would cause too many openings and I would move slower. So I spent most of my time training using Pistis and Eros separately, but it didn't feel right. When I used Pistis it felt like normal, but Eros was awkward to use. I couldn't figure out the reason why. Why would my persona's be something that was awkward for me to use? Then it hit me, I put Pistis in my right hand and put Eros in my left hand. I swung them both and it was nice and natural. It was weird to dual wield but it worked. I can't believe I didn't figure it out earlier, personas represent our inner selves. I had it in me the whole time to dual wield, it's my ability. Unfortunately, the Kirishima Sword Style uses all one handed swords arts. If I have to use my new ability, I have to create a new part of the Kirishima Sword Style. 

Gripping a blade in each hand, I readied myself for battle. By this time my opponent had gotten back on his feet and was coming towards me. Dagger in each hand with a new found anger in his eyes. I don't think he appreciated being slammed against the wall earlier. This would be the first time I used Nitoryu in actual combat, it intimidated me and I could feel my palms getting sweaty. But this was no time to get cold feet. "Fortify: Steel Body, Agility, Adrenaline!" After buffing up, I ran to meet my enemy, who already had his daggers branded with elemental properties. 

As we crossed blades, a surge of energy exploded between us. In the midst of the explosion, my opponent recovered faster than I could and he was ready to cross blades again. He attacked faster this time around. I had to examine each attack. Horizontal, vertical, cross, horizontal cross. It was all too simple. His attack pattern was too repetitive. I waited for his vertical slash down, and knocked his dagger out of his hand. I stepped back and kicked him off away from me. Now it was my turn. 

"Enchant: Double Icebrand!" Pistis and Eros were now emitting a fearsome blue aura. I charged at my opponent as he ran towards me, we locked blades again. We both took a step back, the aura around his daggers returned. We clashed, each time our blades met was the clanking of metal and the fizz of magic fighting magic. Ice slash met ice slash. Ice to fire, I hate to admit it but he was keeping up pretty well. Then he faltered for a second. 

I seized the chance, "Sora Original: Violent Tempest" Each blade was enveloped in a wall of wind, I took one step forward and cross slashed. A huge wall of wind engulfed my opponent, as the wind cut away like slashes from my swords. As the tempest disappeared, my opponent was lying on the ground unconscious. I did it, the first fight was finally over. Then I remembered Gus. 

"Ibuki," I said, "Can you tell me where Gus is and if the enemies are still near him?" 

Ibuki replied, "Of course I can. He is about 20 meters west from your location and the enemies are still lurking about."

"Thanks Ibuki, please head towards their base now. I will try to stall them until you can destroy their base." I explained. 

"Enchant: Light Speed!" I hope I can get there fast enough before they decide to leave their spot. I ran as fast as I could, then I saw Gus there lying on the ground. It looked as though Gus was trying to signal something to me with his hand. Then I saw the light below me.

It was a trap. 

I managed to dodge out of the way but the intense light blinded me. All I could make out was two figures approaching me from both sides. I couldn't tell how far away they were from me. I had to come up with a way to hold them off until my vision returned. Then the next thing I knew, I heard their foot steps about 1 meter away from me. I had to come up with something fast, or I would be a defeated.
