Winter of Blood and Love

Winter of Blood and Love

A Poem by Lindsay.

It’s winter again

With the cuts I show

And with the winter storms

This winter of blood and snow

With this single cut

The flood seems to forever flow

But the smile… it’s great

It’s its own brilliant show.

My hidden gaze

(Hidden by snow and a smile)

Seems insanely hopeless

Until your smile makes it worthwhile

The cuts, slowly healing

The pain, slowly receding

The smile, slowly becoming true

This smile is no longer misleading

All because of you

And your single smile

This life I’m leading

No longer seems vile

I wanted to stop by and thank you for reading and reviewing my poem. Wow I'm impressed with your writing at 14. I was writing at your age too. It was how I salvaged my sanity and made some sense of my topsy turvey world of chaos and dysfunction....and how I came to understand who and why I am...keep writing. You;re quite good.

This is good, and I love how you ended with the word "vile"...Because it shows worlds more than..."distasteful" or "bad"...That one word just says a lot about the past.
Very good =]
