Heart-Shaped Tears

Heart-Shaped Tears

A Poem by Lindsay.

Dry your eyes

It’s no longer the time to cry

There are many tears inside.
But too much I have cried,
too much I have lied,

too much I have sighed.

Crying is a weakness

I much prefer bleakness

In this world I see

there’s not much time left for me

Now I can see

these tears, only you hold the key.

(Well…  hopefully)

Now I’ll cry no more,

I’ll keep these tears at my heart’s core

Now they will no longer show

and now you will no longer know

And every time, before I go

I’ll put on a smiling show

just so you will no longer know

where the tears now go.

I’ll keep the tears inside

act like I never lied

‘I’m just fine’

will become another practiced line

And you’ll never know

why the tears, they never show,

and away, they never go.

But I want to keep you happy

even if in the end I’ll feel crappy.

Because when you are happy, I’ll be fine

no, that’s not another practiced line.

Because with your love, I’ll shine

(even if you’re never just mine.)

Because it’s you I love

you make me fly like a dove.

Just don’t let me down,

don’t play me like a clown,

Because with you I found

something that doesn’t make a sound.

Love.
