The Break-Up

The Break-Up

A Poem by Lindsay.

She trusted him

He broke her heart.

He’s moving on,

She doesn’t know where to start.

This game of life,

has taken a turn for the worse.

He is moving on,

She is stuck with this curse.

She was getting used to him,

there by her side.

But now it would have been better

if he had just up and died.

She thought she loved him

but he ripped her heart from her chest.

She’s now lost and confused,

He thought he did what was ‘best’.

He told her face-to-face

heavy with regret.

Now she has to keep smiling

so she won’t forget.

She won’t forget how to smile,

or how to laugh.

So she won’t remember only pain and sorrow,

now she knows only half.
