Here I StandA Poem by tshiggHere I stand. A mountain of a man. A mountain or a man? A mountain is who I am. I am a mountain. I am a landmark. I am a guidepost. Look to me for guidance. Look to me for service. I will always be here. I will always be here. I will shed many tears. Tears for those who pass by. Tears for those who stay. Tears for those who never come my way. I am a mountain. But I am a man A man who feels. But does not share the pain. My job is to hold the pain. I am scarred and bruised. I am weathered and stained. Yet I still hold onto the pain. I am a mountain. I hold the pain. Look at me and see. I will be here for thee. Be here forever. For whoever. Don’t think of me as good. Don’t think of me as bad. I am dirt and sand. I am a man. I am a mountain . I am sad. I am angry. I am powerful. I am weak From a distance you cannot tell. But look closely and you will see. See I am strong. See I am weak. See I endure. See also that I crumble. Bits and pieces fall off of me. Yet I still stand. Chunks are washed away. Yet still I stand. Do not forget I am a mountain. Do not forget I am a man. © 2010 tshiggReviews
