Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

A Poem by tshigg

Am I a Genius
Or
Am I retarded.
Here I stand,
Again,
In the long line of the broken hearted!
Refusing to bend,
but warped none the less.
Refusing to break,
but molded into an unknown shape.
Taking risks,
but unable to claim the rewards.

De Ja Vu.....

Is this my fate?
To wonder through life disconnected?
Hurt, bleeding?
Emotionally infected?
Feeling like a solo act in a duet competition?

Confused and solemn.
Walking a trail,
Afraid to fail.
Running a path,
Gaining momentum at last!

The sense of this I must know.
I will understand.

I must know what's in store.
What's next and why.
I scream out.
I cry out.
I question the heavens.

No answer, No reply!

I remember my home.
I decide to look within.
From the inside out,
my growth will begin!
From desolute rejection.
To refined and sublime connection!

Who joins me?
I am not sure.
But,
I will be waiting
and ready
and I will endure!
Of This
I
Am
Quite
SURE!

this flows really well and I agree with Emily, reading it out loud will add to its beauty

I love the way this piece weaves its way around this unknown stuff, all these questions and comes to a definite end, like the knotted string of yarn has an unattached end, a piece that proves there's more to the string (life) than the knots (problems). Idk why I got this mental picture of string, but a very cool piece.
