Alone

Alone

A Poem by Leah
"

I wrote this during a rough patch. It is part of a group of three poems that are pretty much my first attempts at creative writing... Please be gentle with your critiques

"
Tears scar her face as they journey down her cheeks, leaving destruction in their wake. She is alone, once again staring at her only companion, the fallen apple tree. She sits in the long grass, searching for something, but not knowing quite what as she looks upon the dead tree and the apples laying, rotting, dying. She is confused, she doesn't understand why this happened, why she sits alone again. She has so much to say, if only someone was there to listen.

This is my favorite- I love it! every sentence is purposeful and heartfelt. The second to last line doesn't flow quite as smoothly as the rest, tho.

this is great! the language is good, and the symbolism especially excellent. i can almost feel what you are, at the time. i'm looking forward to seeing the other two!
