War

War

A Poem by Jb

Hollow eyes, hollow soul
Demons chained up in the backyard
Never together, never whole
Everything's still too hard
Grass is dying, children lying
Summer days have faded
Lips are closing, you're imposing
Though I don't hear you; I'm too jaded
Brittle hair, breaking bones
Each step is it's own war
But all my weapons are gone,
Because I know it's time to move on,
Until I can find what I'm fighting for
