Animals

Animals

A Poem by Jb

So maybe I am too young to see
The world of flames surrounding me
The animals who will sacrafice
Dignity and love just to secure their vice
Oblivious in their vices, without a care
Numb to the world, those who need them there
So maybe I'm too young, too young to see
But I feel the heat of the flames around me
I can comprehend that it's all burning slow
I can comprehend we'll have no place to go
Because money's the world, the sun sets on sex
Drugs and alcohol are fostering superiority complex
We're slowly dying by our own free will
But I'm not ready to  die, I'm ready to kill
To kill all the greed, to kill the selfishness
To destroy what has created all of this mess
For I'm too young to see, and too young to die
And I refuse to lose myself from somebody's high
So instead, I'll strip them, and watch them feel
Throw back into that fire that's real
Maybe they'll wake up before they've turned to ash
Maybe the awakening won't have to be so rash
Or maybe they'll keep their eyes closed, and still fail to see
The fire they started, that's burning humanity
