Absolutely NothingA Poem by Truman S. BoothThis poem is from the over-imaginative mind of a little boy trying to go to sleep. He probably just saw something scary on TV.There’s absolutely nothing Hiding underneath my bed. There’s absolutely nothing" At least, that’s what Mommy said. There’s no such thing as monsters. They are just imaginary. There’s no such thing as monsters" Although some of them are scary… There isn’t any reason For me to be afraid. There isn’t any reason That my room a ghost would raid. Or a skeleton would scare me Or a ghoul would try to tear me Or a zombie would ensnare me Or a witch would come impair me! There’s absolutely nothing Lurking in my dresser drawer. There’s absolutely nothing To cause me such utter horror. My eyes are getting weary now And sleep is coming quick. And all my fears just slip away As my brain turns off"click. © 2010 Truman S.
