NYC

A Poem by Poetic Poet

The New York City lights shine down on her gorgeous face,
I wish I could have her beauty,
I buy pastels, make up and hair clips galore,
to hide my face and start my faking.
I become more like her and less like me
but as long as you say i’m pretty,
I’ll skip my meals and buy more clothes,
just to make it in this city.

i like the symbolism in the line "i'll skip my meals and buy more clothes", it's very heart-throbbing.
