HerA Poem by Dory-Her eyes sparkle like diamonds floating Across a river, reflecting the moonlight. Her words echo through my mind, Her voice makes everything alright.
But she can never be mine For we are all victims of society. And because we are the same, We can never be.
My own father looks disdainfully When he sees us together. He cannot see me anymore. But I've longed for her forever.
I love to hold her, to touch her. I stroke her silken hair and whisper in her ear. I kiss her lips and taste her and we are one. And she whispers those three words I long to hear.
I can protect her from them. I can wipe away her tears of shame. And tell her that we are okay. That they are the ones to blame.
We'll run away , and never look back. And find ourselves where we can be. To a place where this nightmare becomes a dream. And we can finally be free.
