In Retrospect

In Retrospect

A Poem by Anu Biswas

A patch of sunlight
Illuminates
A bruise on the writing desk; a scar on the heart
Now faded into solemn memory
Once ugly, now respected
Through long and warm summers
A love nurtured; heart hammering soft words and reckless promises
Millions of invisible letters now soaked into wood
In retrospect, I would if I could.

I am impressed by the magical expression of the lovely piece.
Which lines I will isolate!
Each line is equally beautiful and magical.
But,how I remain silent about mentioning this line, this is superb:
"Millions of invisible letters now soaked into wood"
100/100

I am better for having read this. I am excited to read more.

Brief but clear. A sense of longing ensues from my reading, particularly in the final three lines.

I look forward to reading more.
