It's not a secret anymoreA Poem by Adrienne
It's not a secret anymore. Its less of an attention-grabber, and more of something my mom's ashamed of. Like when she watches me, knife to my arm, wet face, she can't help but just watch. With stoney eyes, just watch. I dont want you to see them, those long lines up my arm. See my face, see my smile instead. I have exuberance alive. I am not dead. © 2009 Adrienne |
