I envy an orangeA Poem by AdrienneI envy an orange. Not for its color or for its tartly sweet juices-- but for its tender prospects. As a seed it blooms. A peel with pores of nutricious spritz. It knows to leave room for segments. It knows to put pulp on every corner of every round edge of every piece of fruit. Weeks pass and hidden by the porous peel is a body, of working pieces, piecing together an orange. As a seed it knows exactly what to do, as a fruit, how to live, as a body, how to give. And it didnt ask for a textbook or nothing-
