Distance and its troubles

Distance and its troubles

A Poem by Adrienne

The late winter months of 2008

till' the first few months of oh nine'

I knew a certain norwegian boy

that casually I could call mine.

And though I had never met him,

though I'de never kissed his face,

Simply talking to my lover-boy

put me in sences of grace.

We had these miraculous plans-

plans to finally meet!

Plans for him to stay with me

It was distance we would defeat.

Reality soon sunk in-

right in the ripe of our love

that distance would hold us apart

Our love, no more than a caged dove.

And thus I'm crying tears

to get my Tommy back-

so that I can have that kiss...

but distance is a b***h

      and

          that

                is

                 that
